Lockdown with Cane-Yo Art Book
March 2020 unleashed on us all a new way of life, new condition to adhere to, the ‘new normal’. It has been a difficult time for everybody socially, mentally and physically. My personal outlet was to respond through my art and connect to people and fellow artists online. During these restrictions, I was unable to work on the genre that I am normally known for, Landscapes. And therefore for this reason I turned to social media where I met and was welcomed into a creative community called ‘Cane-Yo’. Some would refer to it as a movement or a creative space composed of contemporary creatives. From March 2020 to 2021 I have been painting family, friends, followers and fellow creatives, producing a moleskin sketchbook in which 25 artworks made the final cut for this publication.
During the past few year I have had several conversations with individuals who have really suffered the effects of depression mostly stemming from not being able to deal with lockdown. This book is a tribute to all those persons who have had mental problems arising from the covid period. And for this reason I will also be donating £10 of every sale to registered Charity 'Gib Sams' (Mental Health and Suicide Prevention).
